Saithe cod is found in the North Atlantic Ocean between Continental Europe and Greenland. It has a stronger flavor and the yellowish color of the Saithe meat is characteristic of the species when cured and salted. When cooked, its meat flakes easily. Saithe cod is rich in protein, vitamins and minerals, including vitamin B12, iron and phosphorus. In addition, it is a great source of omega-3, a type of healthy fat that is important for cardiovascular health.
