It originates from the state of Pará, where fishing is a very traditional cultural event that involves the native population in a big party. It can be prepared grilled, breaded, baked and even in moquecas, when added at the end of the preparation. Mapará has a high protein content, thus being characterized as a fish with nutritional potential, therefore ideal for the application of technologies and obtaining new products with nutritional value.
